Same As It Ever Was by Karl WaldbauerSame As It Ever Was
This is the time he looks for a star
so he can feel closer to midnight.
Theres something afoot as the full moon watches,
shes framed by swaying twin palms.
A wide eyed owl utters a call of contentment,
the hour is drawing nigh.
Soon faeries and nymphs
(and sylphs by the gaggle)
will arise to spread magic about.
As he catches a whiff of fragrant night jasmine
the man connects with that star.
A breeze whispers softly to tell him her secret
The world is wonderful tonight.

Posted by Max Bouillet on 09/26/04 at 01:48 AM I love it when the Goddess whispers... beautiful natural imagery that fills the senses with spirituality and a sense that maybe all is not lost. Great read. |
Posted by Leslie Ann Eisenberg on 10/24/04 at 04:14 AM mmmmmm, this is such a romantic piece, and yet, with "sylphs by the gaggle" it has a little sense of mischief and lightheartedness. we could all use some of that right now, that is precisely makes the world so wonderful tonight! |
Posted by Elizabeth Seago on 12/18/06 at 02:03 AM Breathtakingly beautiful. It's amazing how we so effortlessly get caught up in our own lives, and become blind to the overwhelming beauty that surrounds us. :) Added this one to my faveorites. |
