The Only Thing I Ever Fought

by Becca Morton

How am I supposed to know exactly how you feel?
I don’t even know if this feeling is real.
I watch you standing there…
Saying no to you just wouldn’t be fair…

(chorus)
I love you with everything I’ve got…
Falling for you, the only thing I ever fought…
But you never did any thing wrong

I led you on time and again
Trying to tell you that we were just friends
I kissed you once… figured it was okay…
I just kept searching for reasons to stay

(chorus)
I love you with everything I’ve got…
Falling for you, the only thing I ever fought…
But you never did any thing wrong

I never understood the way you felt for me
I guess I refused to look… refused to see…
There could be something great
I could take that chance… before its to late.

(bridge)
I’m not afraid to pursue it
I’m not afraid to get hurt
All I am afraid of is the possibility that...
You could break my heart…

(chorus)
I love you with everything I’ve got…
Falling for you, the only thing I ever fought…
But you never did any thing wrong
(repeat x2)

Becca, I really like this, even though I don't know much about song writing. As I read it, I had a mental tune to the words, most likely different from yours. Good work!

I really like this, too! I've found that the deepest personal experiences are the ones that produce my personal favorite pieces, too!
