Fading The blues Away

by James Zealy

I walked into a Modern day meeting place,
Feeling Lonely and completely desolate,
Reminiscent of a 60's coffee House,
Fragrant odors People milling about,

Feet tapping fingers snapping,
People enjoying the sound,
Reading Relaxing nobodies napping,
Folks happy gathering round,

The acoustic Guitar blaring that soulful melody,
Suddenly not alone as the blue mood fades,
Simple joys trace fleet tendrils of ectasy,
A rhapsody of sounds and odors,

People attuned to their own purpose,
Yet not able to keep from disclosing,
As the relaxed enjoyment abounds,
Released by the unpretentious surroundings,

The slide guitar wales along,
Setting the pace,
Easing the hearts race,
guess I m not feeling alone,

Isn't it surprising
My spirits are arising
As the artistic collage,
Chases away my hearts grim reaper

Author's Note: I was feeling very sad and alone here. I walked into Borders book store (It has a coffee shop, and sometimes a local group) and a Blues band was playing. I found a scrap of paper and wrote this on the spot. Its amazing the affect music can have on easing anxiety.

This one really takes me back to my home town - Eugene, Oregon. Thanks for the smile.
