NYCity by Amanda BullingtonI want to live in the City
To be a part of it
[but I am a part of it;
walking through it I'm a
living, breathing part of
it, my body in transfusion
with the masses]
Living to watch all the
people [stereotyped badasses;
yet people like you, people
like me]
People coexistent with the
City smell
(rotting garbage thrown down
by millions of lazy hands;
unshaven drifters; burning
marijuana and hot dog breath}
I'll give my soul to the City
(walking in marches; living,
working, and eating in the
City air; CO2 piling out of
me to fill and sustain our
world}
I want to die in the City
[a forgotten, rotting corpse
buried alive in Trinity
Church's Cemetery crowds] 08/25/2004 Author's Note: I just went on a trip to NYC with my aunts and cousin; it was one of the best trips I've had in my life.
