Secret Admirer

by Teri T Lahmon

In these moments between the bustle of errands
And the quiet solitude of the deep ripe night
Your smile teases my thoughts
Away from the business of tomorrow
And I am become vulnerable to the night music
Reminding me of your cadence
And the slow cool burn
that eased its way to the surface of my skin
Evaporating my breath
and drying my eyes of their sorry tears.
This night I lay against pillows
Offer the ceiling silly school girl grins
Wondering at the qualities of your kiss
Whether it be firm or gentle
Just the right amount of moist
Is the sighing breath as sweet as tantalizing
As the look in your eye?
In these moments
I dream of you.

And the slow cool burn that eased its way to the surface of my skin Evaporating my breath and drying my eyes of their sorry tears. ....ah, sweet solace of fantasy
