Summers no end by Sam Roberts
Torrential rain, dusting our quarters clean
In a summer that has no end
Heads fall into bare knees
And Solitude stalks the water
Burnt well -seared
Our raspberries drain grey mould to our lips
(Appeared)
To wash black and white
The cava felt empty tonight, empty on my mouth.
this light doesnt last here
Reflections only shine for so long.

Posted by Max Bouillet on 08/18/04 at 02:03 AM Reflections only last for so long.... that was an exceptionally good choice for a last line. It almost seems to haunt the reader. The images are dirty and vivid at the same time. Excellent read. |
