Sound

by Max Bouillet

The echo of
feathers landing
on broken glass...

a spirit’s wave breaking
on the geography
of god.

Quite striking imagery! Reminds me of Genesis 1 and of Jesus' words, "The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cnnot tell where it comes from or cannot tell where it is going. ..." John 3:8 In the case of your poem it is a matter of Eternal quiet, "The echo of feather's landing".

Max, this is so peaceful and vivid. I will add it to my favorites list. And reading it today (Sunday) it means so much to me - for many reasons. Thank you for touching my heart.

the large and small of it... beauty and pain in one ear-splitting breath... you said it... blessings...

I absolutely love this - the delicacy of the first stanza against the mammoth punch delivered by the second. Heady, succinct, and as always, extremely well-done.
