I Have Scars by Amanda J CobbOne through the palm
from that cross you nailed me to
on the muddy field,
in your mind,
forever thinking I should sacrifice myself
for you.
One through the heart
as you made me choose,
unfairly,
between love and freedom,
when I should have found them
in each other. 08/06/2004 Author's Note: Hmmm. Feedback?

Posted by Max Bouillet on 08/08/04 at 06:02 AM The imagery is superb --especially the way you tie spirituality in the imagery of the first stanza to the sanctity of a relationship in the second verse. Throughout, you maintain the theme of sacrifice. Excellent on all counts and with a very strong message. |
