Broken story (unsent letter) by Paganini Jones
I have nothing to say to you
That you didnt once know.
Syllables I treasure,
Do you still seek them out?
Have you learned now how
To read the random gum spots
On the pavement;
The flakes floating
In your eyes?
Or do you still drift,
Following the turn of someone elses dice
Claacking
Falling
Rolling
Rolling
Stopped?
Can you read the tatters;
Torn posters flapping,
Discarded flyers
To some new venture?
Or do you still look
For the cut price coupon,
The 5 percent off,
The silver lining
In the inevitable dark clouds?
Would you read
This?
Could I read you?

Posted by Maureen Glaude on 08/01/04 at 07:56 AM hmmm. Very myterious. I feel like we're travelling that stretch of pavement with you, looking at the past and that there's a sense of regret for whatever divided these two people. Very intriguing, enigmatic. I think whoever it was, they wrote haiku. From the opening stanza. Well done. |
