I’d more like to see her stories told
in uncensored centerfolds,
shackling pictures of herself
(leaning quietly on the set)
to her shoulders as a white boa.

They will constrict her options to
slipping into or out of paper or plastic catalogs.

She will be reborn in a quarter hour:
enough time to stop at the newsstand,
and be dropped in the bathroom stall.

She’ll surely fall into all her glory
as photo shoots are a sure one—
as a knife; aiming to please,
but missing the point.

Author's Note: Never give them what they want. (Update: I guess this used to be more relevant...)
