where we sleep when noone is looking

by Olivia Weinkein

the difference between you and i is
that i don't know when to breathe &
you don't know when to stop

he sighs in syllables
holds my anxiety
warm in his hands

he will not stop touching me

i am not whole and
he tries to fill me and

i am not whole

my dear, he says,
you've places to put things.
he is
forever stuffing me
with insides, pieces
of him but

i am not whole and
he will not stop touching me.
