A short Tale (Rictameter)

by Paganini Jones

A ring
He promised her!
As he left her embrace
He promised to give her a ring.
For hours she gazed at her fourth finger
Imagining diamonds and gold.
Then he picked up his phone
Dialled, and gave her
A ring..

Author's Note: Some may recognise this a a rewrite of a previous villanelle... Just playing about with a different form for a change

Fun poem: A ring in the bath tub would also meet the promise...Charlie
