Noble Convergence

by Alison McKenzie

Struck by thunder
As the red-tailed hawk
Delicately settles,
Inclines his majestic head to womb,
Unfurls one wing,
Beseeching my caress.
Brilliant strength
Humbled by cull,
Crest and crush of apotheosis;
I am honored, out of sync.
Tears, hot and coarse
Land on song of flight,
Linger in the veneration.
Daughter, rememberer.

Oh Alison, I just know how it melted God's heart when you wrote this. You actually wrote it for Him. He came to you as an eagle, longing for your love. How exquisite.
