I want a sonnet and I want it now

by Paganini Jones

I want a sonnet and I want it now!
So write me a sonnet, any-old-how!
I don’t care about rhyme or iambic feet
I just want a poem to me from you
So write a new poem! Oh please, please do?

And don’t go complaining about the muse;
Of how she won’t come in her satin shoes;
Of how her trim form has changed to old meat.
Just write me some cliches about tender love
And how like it is to a white turtle dove!

How many times must I daily repeat
I don’t care about rhyme or Iambic feet?
I just want to hear that it’s me you love true
So tell me you love me. You love me. You do!

Author's Note: A rosarian sonnet, of a sort though the final quatraine doesn't follow the usual pattern. Mind you some might quibble at the content and other matters too!

Yes, sonnets! We all need sonnets ;)

I'd like to quibble about the other matters - what are they?
