title already forgotten, long after your scent is memory

by Lauren Pearl

sometimes i wear my t-shirt back-
wards just to see if you’ll notice

six hours later i’m giggling in
embarrassment as I turn my
shirt around and wink in your
general direction.

you think our differences are cute

you have no idea how many
differences i hide from you

there are fourteen thousand on my
thighs alone, and i cannot count
how many times i wish you would
trace your fingers along them so we
can share a little more with each other.

(i want you to know so much more of me

with each shootingspine pain that
you trigger with your touch)

my hair is always tight and tough
and strangling and i cannot help
if my socks don’t always match

i’m a little rough the edges but
i have a hunch that it could be
something you’d want to fall
in love with.

Author's Note: ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....yeah. quite possbily the most honest thing i've written about him/me/us. it's simple and nothing great, i know, but for now it means a lot to me.

I love the way it skips around to different images. It makes it seem really heartfelt and honest.
