cloud ships

by Kimberly Bare

I try to capture
the beauty of the sky at dusk.

The golden hue cast
from the sun's dying light
floats through treetops
creating a kaleidoscope across the land.

The gray tipped clouds float
across the sky, resembling fluffy boats
on a deep blue sea.
The amber sunset creates
pink icebergs in the backdrop.

Trees stretch their branches
toward the sky, as if trying to capture
the treasures of the cloud ships
before they drift by.

The sun's last rays fade away,
and the cloud ship treasures
are forever lost
to the mysteries of the night.

This is beautiful as well, excellent imagery that does capture the beauty of the sky at dusk. It makes me content and sleepy. :-)
