aching

by Kimberly Bare

apathy wells up in
undistinguished moments
and i am left
unguarded

aching
for the search of
things yet undiscovered

the feel
of silk
beneath tender fingertips
slipping through
the woven lace edges
of a dream

the taste of tears
touching
the tip of my tongue
as i attempt to
swallow this
unfathomable sadness

You must have been following me around this evening, because this is exactly the way I felt. I came home & just started crying, because I was so sick of looking for places to live. Good work, Kimberly, and sometimes none of don't know either.
