My Impatience to burn

by Scott Cadence

It’s more often lately
that I’m Outer Body
learning how heat moves in mazes,
how those words jab at me
and the energy flows

With my back turned
a block of sun from a single cloud
could turn it black,
hope not to be the Reality
I rejected
In the updating of the noumena

We both know it’s my impatience
to burn
that sends me
on such Great Escape
to consume you
like you do the Syrah and Pinot
like that fine cello
has you
slumped over it nightly
your head moving
eyes closed
lost to the feeling

I know you from the inside
like those wines
warm in your face and groin,
I have witnessed
your 4 by 4 timing
between word and breath
and the solid instrument I am
to play upon

We could Fascinate
all night
on Nietzsche,
dabble onset biblically
till we think we have a handle on it
feel our minds swell and our egos soar…
Only tomorrow
to forget the passion we felt
And the motivation
to live by it

Author's Note: I went all over with this one - not quite sure it works - Nothing is ever truly complete and always feels slightly awkward, but it feels good to get it down.
