Paisley Girl

by Jane E Pearce

They ignore me now
for I am passe
with old fashioned lines,
and misplaced darts-
out of sight,out of mind,
though once admired,
I hang in the closet, confined.
so,
fold me away gently,
with my pleats sharp,
and the paisley pattern true,
with a leaf of tissue spread
to let the colors through-
reds and golds entwined around
in unending swirl, to dance
among the stars- home
for a paisley girl.

The melancholy and memories combine to make this a wonderful peak into your closet! Thanks for sharing :)
