death by drip

by Cymbre Dolphay

Maybe if you had been nicer to me things would have been different
occasional words of genuine sentiment, instead of the quips,
razor bladed and so overprotective of your status as a man,
perhaps this grotesque representation of affection might
have transcended its mostly physical intentions and
ignited a bonfire of actual spiritual lust that could’ve broken
niggardly ways that resided in the innermost crevices of this
equilibrium we had going from the beginning

breathe easier once you’ve drunk your fill of my body’s
responses to the deft wanderings of your lips along the
incline of my spine, because with each caress
deep rivers of icy water flood over my skin, seducing me…
even though I am desperately trying to ignore you

Author's Note: That is easily the coolest bit of a song lyric I have ever heard. And it worked well to describe exactly what is going on.
