falling into and out of and into again (rock bottom)

by Olivia Weinkein

the way we climbed into eachother

i was never as awkward as i could
have been.
and you with all of your promises
tucked between your teeth were
never as contagious as you
should have been.
i wasn't looking when you last
untied my shoes. you weren't careful
when i last untied yours
and now,
lost and unraveled together
we are as unsteady as a small boat
floating on a river bent on escaping.
we have only eachother to hold on to.

we have only eachother to blame.

Writer's block? At my best, I could only ever dream to write like you do. Wonderful. xx
