Day Dreams

by Jane E Pearce

A candy apple afternoon,

merry-go -round  music

to lick off your lips,

thanks Mom

for bringing me.

Voices happily daring

the rides-oh it's delicious

high, high up,

and my heart pounds

to touch cotton clouds.

Bang-bang,

the tin duck falls,

and the soft rabbit

hops into my arms

to ride on the merry-go- round

round and round.

"Where is he?

He was here by my side

a moment ago-

Oh there he is-

a tired little fellow, smiling,

asleep in his wheel chair.
