        in the middle of a Ruddy May –
a red reaction on your skin

cheeks        &       lips        &       nipples

red in the color of blood
racing through every organ,
overtly,
        flowing,
red, luscious and lush –
the color of lust
and love
and heat
and red-hot passion
in me
in you.

perfect day
        at the end of our Red May –
burned a red reminder on my chest

kisses       &        snickers        &       hugs

red in the color of shorts
standing, sexy in my hallway,
slyly,
        grinning,
warm, red and rare –
the color of skin
and hair
and eyes
and heartbeats
glowing
in candlelight.
