child's cry in the night
- dreaming
or waking?
06/01/2004 Author's Note: Just a little thing provoked by reading a poem by Mike McConnell, which took me back to when our eldest was very young and I could *feel* him crying, even from a deep sleep when no-one else could hear him. Invariably he WAS crying...

Posted by Maureen Glaude on 06/05/04 at 10:19 PM mother's ear never fails. Haunting sometimes, for this can happen even when they're far away and older. beautiful, Pag. |
Posted by Agnes Eva on 08/07/04 at 06:34 PM I like how L2-3 could either be referring to the child or to the listening ears perceiving it. This works on both a concrete and ethereal level, which is difficult to achieve, good job :) |
