Posted by Graeme Fielden on 06/01/04 at 01:15 PM A nice insight Br. Max, quite positive. A question though...if, to a pessimist, the glass is half empty, then does that mean it's really half filled, with biblical paper mache? ;P |
Posted by Ashok Sharda on 06/01/04 at 05:04 PM This looks a multidimensional piece.Pages being ripped out one by one in a cleaning process. Cleaning of the ugliness. Cleaning of the undesired selves. The room is empty now for a spiritual fill.On the other dimension it brings you face to face with the life situations , the on going battles which eventually leaves you with a feeling of a perpetual nothingness. |
Posted by Traci Mabats on 06/01/04 at 07:32 PM I dont know why this reminds me of Farenheit 451 (or a book like that) |
Posted by Karl Waldbauer on 06/01/04 at 07:51 PM I may be cynical, but I'm so glad a use was found for those books that have helped to enslave mankind with dogma. Merely my spin on it, but your work stands as flawless, Max. |
Posted by Bruce W Niedt on 06/01/04 at 09:28 PM I like the resonance of this, the irony of the second stanza. Very well-turned short piece - I'll have to read more in this folder.... d:-) |
Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 06/02/04 at 12:42 PM I wonder about the "children" here. Children as in Loneliness, Isolation, Rejection...? Thought provoking! |

Posted by Mara Meade on 06/03/04 at 07:53 PM layered and circular... the thoughts I've been chasing about this are wonderful. |
