Mega Madness

by Robert Cameron Hazelton

Growing more anxious as time surely slows-
pockets full of dreams, but never much cents.
Let that last ball be the number I chose.

The day of the drawing everyone shows
choosing digits for a minor expense,
growing more anxious as time surely slows.

So many great prospects this could expose
which my current desire sorely prevents,
please let that ball be the number I chose.

Watching the clock and it seems to have froze...
pick already, I can’t take the suspense!
Growing more anxious as time surely slows.

My unique order I’ll never disclose
all my hopes ride on this magic sequence,
that last ball must be the number I chose.

Whose future looks richer - nobody knows,
I pray that tonight I have no laments.
Growing more anxious as time surely slows,
make this last ball be the number I chose!
