Midnight Encounter with a Ravyn by Adrian CalhounMorning is soon to come,
and here i've sat all night
staring into you, with no response.
The same song has played, and replayed
a hundred times over now.
Yet each time it still brings tears.
The coffee has long grown cold,
but the fire is still warm.
I saw the stars twinkling tonight,
and for a moment I swear I saw you there.
Lingering in the glow of the moon,
smiling only as you could,
letting me know it was okay.
That you had finally found peace.
I heard your voice on the breeze,
and you told me you would always remain.
Perhaps it was only a chill,
but I know I felt you hug me,
reassuring.
A candle has now been lit,
and burns for you, and you alone. 05/24/2004 Author's Note: Thank you for everything over the years Jen *s*
