Meeting like weather by Paganini JonesThe meeting was like weather
Set in
For the week
Storm clouds gathered
By ten oclock
Round the chairman
Who noticed his sons
Snow plough
In his pocket
Disagreement
Banked up
Either side of the table
Arguments rained down
Spattered
notepads and minutes
Checkmated positions
Blocked
The way ahead
yet
Like a break in the clouds
Lunch came
At one
Sandwiches, coffee,
Shared
Gave promise of rainbows
With a bad joke and forced laughter
The small boys
Came out to play
Jostling position
For the
Snow plough

Posted by Maureen Glaude on 05/24/04 at 09:46 PM thank goodness for humour, to break tension, I always say. I hate closed-door sessions and negativity in meetings. But I can endure them and fight out with the best of them for my point of view. Good work, Pag. |
