Chapel By The Sea

by Charles M Harrison

A cross of stone stands alone
at the Chapel by the sea.
As I knelt to pray there
my Lord spoke to me.
In the shadows of the tres
where squirrels and birds did play.
He eased the troubles of my mind
and took my fears away.
His gentle spirit touched my heart
and I felt his love anew.
It fell upon my troubled soul
as gentle as morning dew.
There I felt the love for my Lord
grow in me once again.
I knew then he was to be
my very best friend.
My love for him I gladly share
with everyone I see.
The love for him I found again
at the Chapel by the sea.
