Dew Drops

by Charles M Harrison

In the night away from sight
the dew drops are first born.
To shine and shimmer
with the frosty morn.
Like pearls upon a string
in the spiders web they lay.
To catch the rising sun
and reflect each golden ray.
A carpet of brilliant diamonds
upon the morning grass.
Gently washing the feet
of the animals that pass.
As the sun climbs in the sky
they silently fade away.
To await the coming of night
to be born another day.
