God’s Alarm Clock

by Mary Ellen Smith

No bells, no buzz
No numbered face.
No gears or screws
No wooden case.

No springs, no nails
No tic, no tock.
No dancing maids
Nor cuckoo clock.

No batteries
No quartz, no glass.
No pendulum
Or fancy brass.

Tis just the birds
Atop the trees.
Singing their hearts
Out on the breeze.

A symphony
At dawn’s first light.
God’s wake up call
After the night.

Cheerful and uplifting. God has provided such wonderful and simple pleasures which cost us only a little time to listen and take notice!

The perfect start of yet another one of God's beautiful days. Spiritually uplifting.

Hi Mary Ellen, It's so beautiful and yes, indeed. What a wake up call. I also agree with Que and some others too. :)

How beautifully you describe his time pieces that far outshine man's best. Today is the day the Lord has made and I will be glad and rejoice in it...
