Surrender by Alison McKenzieNumbness, it carries me
Feelings felt fleetingly
Wash me into the sea
Dazed in such high degree
Cycling through the pain
Welcoming all the rain
Cleansing in each refrain
Stumbling back again
Drowning I try to swim
Breaking the surface thin
Barriers breaking in
Silence above the din
No one can hear the screams
Quieted by my dreams
Nothing is as it seems
Sunlight in darkened beams
Resting I inhale peace
Longing for sweet release
Untying both me feet
Trying to kill the beast...
Surrender is my new best friend
It offers hope, my will to bend
And letting go will be an end
My will, to death; my love, to lend.
