Alexia

by Thomas K. Hunt

Her china face can do no harm
It’s the portrait of innocents
She knows the definition of charm
She’s learned how to use it

Her tiny little finger
Wrapped up tight
I’m blessed by the joy
She is, every night

An amazing little princess
With questions every day
A vivid imagination
When she’s lost herself in play

A bundle of reality
Visiting fantasylands
You can go there with her
She’ll take you by the hand

The prince waits in the carriage
Drawn by the pride of her herd
She sits down for teatime
Sugar is preferred

She’s visited by Aladdin
While wearing the proper attire
We get to visit with Jasmine
Speaking her name is required

An aspiring ballerina
Trying hard to point her toes
Proud to show her new steps
Finales with a pose

Holding all my heartstrings
She’s my puppeteer
She’s made my life worth living
My purpose now is clear
