Don't grieve for me

by Lisa-Dawn Sparling

Don’t speak of me in past tense,

I am not gone,

I am the gentle fragrance of a lilac,

I am the reflection on the water,

I am the warmth from the fire.

I will never leave you,

So don’t grieve for me.

I will be your peace,

I will be your calm,

I will light your path when your uncertain.

Don’ t speak of me in past tense,

You will see me in your reflection,

You will see me in my children,

You will hear my laugh on the breeze,

You will feel my touch when your scared.

I will never leave you,

So don’t look for me,

You can always count on me,

You can always think of me,

You can always pray for me.

Author's Note: This poem wrote itself. Not much I can say about it that it doesn't say. I am not sure if I wrote this for Kelly or if I wrote this for myself. In any case I would like this to my family and friends from me.

How profound the presence of love is here...there is an energy that can never be destroyed...heartbreaking in it's first person portrayal of a loved one departed...there is an immense comfort and spiritual peace to be found here...a beautiful expression of love.
