Poem of Prayer and Praise

by Charles M Harrison

O Lord please hear this prayer of praise
we offer up to you in these troubled days.
Please remind us as the years go by,
why for our sins you chose to die.
Let us feal the pain of your heavy cost
so our hearts will sorrow at what was lost.
Let us not forget our sins that did kill
the lamb on the cross at Calvary's hill.
We were all there as you were crucified
we are the reason, O Lord that you died.

Upon your death, let us not dwell
for your sacrifice made us free from hell.
Now Lord let us sing out your praise!
As we marvel at your wondrous ways.
For two days you lay in a tomb
a stone at the door of your death room.
All from us thought you had gone
forgive us Lord for we should have known.
Over you Satan has no sway
death could never take you away.

On the third day it was all to clear
death had lost, we need not fear.
As it was told to us so long ago
believe; and eternal life we would know.
O great redeemer in these troubled days
hear us a we sing out your praise.
For there is no other, no other like you,
you are the one salvation that is true.
In our hearts where you now dwell
you give us the victory over Satan and Hell!
