a muse

by Rhyana Fisher

once again my muse has fled
across a desert mindscape
the jumbled words fell on her head
i warned her 'bout the duct tape
she never listens to my thoughts
filled with shoulds and shouldn't oughts
but pokes and prys then deeply sighs
at skeletal remains awry
in bulging closets where i try
to keep the buggers gagged and tied

i need a better lock
