My Guardian Angel

by Mary Ellen Smith

I can’t see his great wings about me
But he is there standing guard.

His comfort is a whisper, audible only to the spirit.
His protection while fierce, goes undetected in this world.

In the darkness my heart beats just a little faster
But I have courage because I am not alone.

And once in awhile I do feel the slightest touch.
Like a breeze meant only for me.

And I know He is there standing guard.
