Ghost

by Charles J Hannan

Am I forgotten
In pages grown from circuits
A steady wind howls
In this ghost town read
Bent signs with no direction
Dusty trails that lead nowhere
For to stop is too lonely
Ride on
Ride on into the new
The younger
More affluent
Speak only of the ghost
When no one is around
Look into the sunset
Burn your eyes into it and know
I'm out there
Just beyond that sign

haunting and truly speaks to me of my own ghosts and how while we need to move away from them, we know they reaappear so easily.
