you have a way with your tongue

by Olivia Weinkein

when i am asleep i dream of plane crashes
but i am never a victim
you my love are swelling into
something larger than i can ever
keep contained within these awkward
glances.

and these bruises i keep will not heal you.

and when i am awake i dream of second
chances, avoiding you with my eyes as you
are loving me with your mouth.
i am only as tall as this gravity allows
in this room, in this moment,
as you are swallowing me, devouring me.

and i can't keep from falling down.
