Still The Words by Kate Demeree
Seasons change and life continues it's relentless charge forward Why sit to write, placing endless scribbles on paper It has all been said in one form or another before, Far better by others Who am I, what use my words? Will it change anything one way or another for me to speak? Better now for you to place your fingers gently on my lips Still their trembling, faltering attempt at what our bodies Speak more eloquently, more stirring than a symphony That musical language we make effortlessly together Ragged breaths torn from heaving chests counter tempo to peepers Filling all the empty spaces, leaving tracks, traces of now and forever Etched gracefully across our intertwined thighs The highs and lows of our lives forgotten As your body covers me imitation of Evening dew settling across the earth No wine ever tasted as sweet as you do To my thirsty lips Still the wordsÂ… love

Posted by David R Spellman on 05/08/04 at 05:29 AM So nice to see something new from you Kate. However, I must disagree with the premise that nothing can come from the words one might speak, oral or written, even though you might think "all has been said." We may never know the impact that our words may have upon another being, and, if only one person can be reached and one heart touched by the sweet tenderness of something such as this which you have shared with us here, then the power of those words and feelings have not gone out in vain... and this is a beautiful, sweet and tender morsel that has been said in your own unique and special way!
