you do not acknowledge me by William P Struckejust as leaving this place is a last resort,
so is staying and forgetting about you
i know you would rather we only be friends
but to my heart that would never be true
i need you just as i need my own breath
and as such i can't breathe when you're gone
though nearby, you're always forever away
i can't reach you, can't see you, i'm alone
someday when we meet i'll look into your eyes,
those blue deaths i suffer each night;
in that beauty i cherish i'll open my soul,
and with silence you'll know we are right
though today you've forgotten to give me a call,
i'll remember the time that you did;
that night, how we spoke for hours on end,
how i felt you could be my best friend
i miss you, your voice, your eyes, and your smile,
i need you to rest in my arms;
but since we're apart and will be for a while,
i'll just dream of you keeping me warm~ 05/03/2004 Posted on 05/04/2004 Copyright © 2025 William P Strucke

Posted by Melanie J Yarbrough on 02/11/06 at 07:16 PM I love line 14... but you know what struck me about this? ..it was the breathlessness of the way it's setup on the home page.. maybe what's bothering you is the structure... I loved the helplessness, the sense of pleading and just the "i gotta say this" feel of it when it's jagged and unorganized. :) love it |
