Baby's First Coffin

by Jersey D Gibson

Doomed to death
with your first breath;
it's amazing you survive at all.

As time goes slower,
you still get older;
the rock bottom end of the fall.

Sleeping position,
and the casket's intention;
as slient as the grave.

Hold hope while you can,
it's the only thing that won't pan;
as you decend the eternal cave.

Life's last moments,
and you're left with no opponents;
who will remember you when you go?

Life lived in vain,
I guess you can't complain;
when Heaven's answer is no.
