Eternal Life (cinquain)

by Michelle Calhoun

The cross
Heavy, wooden
Please forgive them Father.
He stretched his arms and died for us.
Thankyou.

Author's Note: This is my 1st cinquain. It was harder than I thought. My 10 year old son brought one home that they did at school. So I thought if he could do it, then I would try too.

Oh, I do like this...I am not schooled in poetry foams so I really can't speak to that...but in the few well chosen words you do speak of Eternal Life! I especially like "He stretched his arms and died for us." because it shows that He went willingly to His death for us.

Wow, intense flashbacks from "The Passion of the Christ" - I like how the cinquain (a form that I too am not familiar with) is almost in a cross shape itself...a simple and honest poem of heartfelt faith.

He is alive in his DEATH. Isn't He? Sweet little piece.
