Nightfall by Alison McKenzieNight falls like a velvet blanket around me,
Soft and warm and safe.
The glowing moon radiates comfort.
Fresh air dances on twinkling stars
To the tune of the owls' gentle lullabies.
The wind beckons to the fallen autumn leaves,
Who whisper their reply
And softly whoosh into the dance.
The creek accompanies with an infinite recital
The constant story of its journey...
Here, a fade to a silent pool;
There, a crescendo in a waterfall,
And always the reassuring babble of life everlasting.
Beyond my life, my little creek becomes a river
And later, an ocean,
Reminding me that we are all individual pieces
Who one day merge with the whole.
Patiently slumber waits for me to come,
And surrounded by the peaceful close to another day,
I fly.....
