fastforward[not]rewind

by Lindsay Sanders

i once curled up into a ball
and shrunk my lazy head to a
size that could fly with the
light of stars through the
space-time continuum, and
searched with determined
eyes for the button in the
sky that reads:

“fast-forward.
those longing to press
this button, beware. we
deactivated the ‘rewind’
button a few months ago
due to the disturbances it
it was causing in multiple
galaxies. this is a powerful
button. pressing into the
future leaves no room for
return to missed past.
thanks,
the management.”

and by the time i had made up
my weary mind over whether
or not to press the stupid thing,
i had forgotten why i was there
in the first place.

the end.

I've felt like that before...you captured it very well. This is ironic and clever...wonderful:)

It was you then, and it's been so many of us at various stages in our lives. At any rate, it's pure awesomeness and appreciated.
