Silent Spring by J. P. DaviesI'm alright with floating along
a river awash with idle daytimes.
In the shade of clockturns gone by,
I'll drift in and out with you.
Here, beside glowing scentful flows,
I'll gravitate towards your edges.
Once jagged, now eroded, razors
are softened in the sunlight.
We'll doze, and fitfully stir,
while flies buzz and hum overhead.
Flitting casually along our eyes;
inciting quick violent response.
Time for breathing in slowly,
and waiting patiently to let go.
I'm holding my breath, calmly
trying not to break this silence.
