Gemini {mini prose}

by Betania Tesch

When you unrolled yourself into the night time sky I said I'll bet you are a gemini because I wanted you to ask what I meant by that. I would have told you all about your twins and you probably would have corrected me.
I would have shifted uncomfortably but held firm to my belief. I still believe. I'll bet you are a gemini. As it stood we simply argued and traded certain stabs blindly. I was not sure what would hit or if you would bleed, being made of fire and light. I was not sure which one of you I was aiming at. There was only one me for you to lock into your sights. It wasn't fair from the beginning. You geminis are like that.
The low light made it easy to reconcile the wounds, and fatigue was a handy excuse as well. You were nice afterward. I didn't see any blood. (Part of me felt sad). Then I turned to you and said I'll bet you are a gemini and you said I knew that all along. I should have known you would know, that one of you would have been sneaking through my thoughts while one the other distracted me. I should have known, but I didn't want to.

As a Gemini, I want to expresss how much i love/hate this mini-prose of yours; how angry/gleeful it makes me to read it; how it is so dishonest/absolutely insightful; and how unfair/spot on its observations are to someone who mocks/idealizes his own astrological profile often. Seriously, great work. My twin brother agrees, don't you? Don't you now? Oh come on, you can say it...
