Welcome to the Springtime by Matt ForgetAs the ocean waters wrinkle
You sit before me
Glistening eyes appear
Shining brighter than the sea
Open up your door for me
And let the sea air in
Oh tis the season of the land we live
And this is where we begin
Welcome to the Springtime
The early bird did sing
Your adventure is about to start
Guided by his feathered wing
Show us all the early headlines
Of each forgotten day
As we celebrate the morning of
This lovely seasoned day
Tell us a story of our only child
Growing up in World Ward III
I only see that guided light
Bringing nothing but our peace
Keep us from the violence
Bring us harmony our way
Saying Joy to our world, our Lord
Save us from today. 03/30/2004 Author's Note: A little song I wrote to welcome Spring. It's a strang little piece but I feel has strong words on our society and our world today.

Posted by Quinn Vokes on 03/30/04 at 09:22 PM i can see where you're coming from with the last two stanzas... when i read through just the beginning i thought it was just a nice little poem about spring, but by the time i reached the end i realized it is so much more. i don't think it's a strange piece at all; it's quite good. ~Qu |
