*FightingForSpaceToBreathe*

by J. P. Davies

I can feel it slipping
down through the cracks,
and pin-holes, in my smile.

It freezes the blood,
in my veins, as you turn
me over the fire.

I’m waiting for the cue,
to dash back on stage
and pretend it’s real.
Let’s stop acting.

Please pronounce this over,
we can begin again.
Inside.

I never saw this, I never saw this, I never thought you wrote likethis or felt like this. How I did I ever miss this? Where were you and more importantly here, where was I?
