Jade

by John Harder

I wanted everything
but received nothing
I watched for your face
and felt a strange sting
You don't come close
to that which is needed

Many a word
spoken to existence
has failed to do justice
to the one thing I lack
This is what you mean
I want it all back

Give me back my hearts desire
I don't like it
Give me back my eternal fire
I don't want you
Don't hold out any longer
I can't stand you

Author's Note: I've found a suitable title now. what do you think? This is rather odd. lately, I've been writing about invisible people. I can't fathom why that is. Perhaps because I don't feel real anger towards very many people, so I fake it.

i think that i like the title... i mean, i really love the poem. putting a name to it all just makes it stronger, because i'm wondering who the heck Jade is and why the heck she's so mean;) bah, who knows. i could be wrong. good read though:)

For some reason your poetry feeds some something inside of me...another good one, as usual.
